Terms of Service
Last updated 15 August 2026
These terms cover your use of Lounje, a Nigerian meal-planning service. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Lounje.
1. What Lounje does
Lounje plans breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day from a library of Nigerian recipes, shaped by the food preferences you set. You can swap any meal, look ahead at the rest of the week, and open each meal as a full recipe with ingredients and steps.
Lounje is a planning and recipe tool. It does not sell, deliver or prepare food, and it does not shop for ingredients on your behalf.
2. Your account
You create an account by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that Google account secure, and for everything done through your Lounje account. One account is for one household — please do not share your login.
You must be 18 or older to subscribe, or have permission from a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.
3. Getting started
Lounje is paid from the first day — there is no free tier. Creating an account is free, but your daily plan, the weekly timetable and the recipes open once your first payment of₦2,000 is confirmed. Your saved preferences are kept either way.
4. Pricing and billing
- Your first month is ₦2,000, taken when you sign up.
- After that, Lounje is ₦5,000 per month.
- All prices are in Nigerian naira and include any applicable tax unless stated otherwise.
- Payments are processed by Flutterwave. Lounje never receives or stores your card details.
Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. We will give you reasonable notice before any price change, and a change never applies to a month you have already paid for.
5. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for. Cancel before your first month renews and you are never charged the ₦5,000.
Because Lounje is a digital service available immediately, part-months are not refunded. If something has gone wrong — you were charged in error, or the service was unavailable — contact us and we will put it right.
6. Recipes, cooking and your own judgement
Recipes, cook times, portion sizes and suggestions are guidance for home cooking, not professional dietary, medical or food-safety advice. You are responsible for checking ingredients against any allergies, intolerances or medical conditions in your household, and for cooking and storing food safely.
If you have a food allergy, a health condition, or you are cooking for someone who does, please confirm every ingredient yourself and speak to a qualified professional where needed. Do not rely on Lounje for that.
7. Content and ownership
Traditional Nigerian dishes belong to everyone. Ingredients and cooking methods are common knowledge and nobody owns them — the same way nobody owns boiling pasta.
What belongs to Lounje is our own work: the research behind each recipe, the way it is written and structured, the meal-planning software, the name and the design, and the photography and video we create or licence.
Cook anything here for your household, and tell your friends about a dish. You may not republish, resell or scrape Lounje's content, or use it to build a competing service.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use Lounje to harm anyone
- try to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours
- copy the service by automated means, or interfere with how it runs
- resell or share paid access with people outside your household
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why where we reasonably can.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Lounje running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed or removed as the product develops. If we make a change that materially reduces what you pay for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of that month.
10. Liability
Lounje is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes fall to the Nigerian courts.
